Durham Divers Now Accepts PayPal!

What exactly does this mean to you? Well, PayPal is a secure money transfer system that will enable you to pay for your charters easily and conveniently. Through PayPal, you may pay the club for charter balances, clothing purchases, or anything else (such as eBay purchases or even transfering money between people).

Payment can be made using direct transfer from your savings or chequing account, or even using your Visa, Mastercard or American Express. The great thing with this system is that you can pay for dive club items using your credit card or direct payment without giving out your card numbers or banking information. No more cheque mailings, no more dropping off payments at Dive Source (although it's always nice to drop by) and now you can even collect Air Miles or points for your club charters and purchases if you use your credit card. Think of all the time and money you'll save not having to run around or mail cheques to the club.

 The system is easy, secure, well-maintained, and offers many fraud protection systems. On your credit card statement, payment will show to "PayPal", not Durham Divers. From the club's perspective, we can now accept credit cards without having to pay the monthly fees.

We Can Pay You!

The club can also pay you directly if you have a PayPal account! If we owe you money for dive master services, refunds, etc., we can directly deposit money into your PayPal account! Sounds good? It's true! But wait...there's more...

You Need To Sign-Up

OK - "How do I get started?", you ask? It's easy! Go to the PayPal website at www.paypal.com and sign-up! Have your chequing account information with you when you do this (you will need some information from your cheque). Over the next few days, PayPal will automatically deposit two small amounts into your account (ex. $0.15 and $0.20) Free money? See - it's already doing you a favour! Once you have noticed this deposit, go back to the PayPal website, log in, and then confirm these two deposit amounts. That's it! PayPal now knows that you are the owner of the account and everything is ready to function.

Let's Make a Payment

"So how do I make a charter payment using PayPal?" Well, you must first contact the treasurer, Dave Kondziolka (me), by phone (905-579-4238) or email ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and let me know that you wish to make a payment and what it's for.

After you log on to PayPal, click on "SEND MONEY", which is found just below the PayPal logo.

In the box labelled "TO", enter my PayPal email address which is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Enter the amount of the payment and set the denomination to CAD - Canadian Dollars.

Select to send money for "Services/Other". Now click on "CONTINUE".

A screen will come up allowing you to review your payment before it is sent as well as enter a message. In the message box, please type a note stating what the payment is for (you can also say "Hi Dave! How's it going? Can I buy you dinner?"). If you choose not to send payment, click on your browser "back page" arrow or simply log-out.

Finally, click "SEND MONEY".

Congratulations! You've just made a club payment in the easiest way possible! What will you do with all that free time? Of course, there's always dinner with Dave!
