Charter Standby List

The charter standby list has been generated through a lottery process. Only those people whose name was drawn to be put on the standby list for a particular charter would have received an email from Dave. If you did not receive an email, then you are booked for the charters that you had signed-up for. Congratulations!

For those of you unfortunate to have had your name picked, the good news is that you owe less for the balance of your remaining charters! Any fees initially paid for your standby charter will be applied to your other dives. In the event a spot opens on the charter, the standby people will be notified first.

Annual Membership Information

New Diver Membership (course completed within past 6 months): $25

Personal Membership: $50

Family Membership: $75

To print out a membership application, click here.

Membership renewal must be paid in full. Charters may be paid in full or 3 payments made based upon a 35% deposit, 35% second payment, 30% final payment schedule.  Also, DDSC clothing is available for sale and may be purchased using the same payment schedule. All payments made must be cash, cheques payable to "Durham Divers Scuba Club" (not Durham Divers), or credit card and direct withdrawal using PayPal. For instructions on the PayPal process, please refer to the PayPal article on this website , or click here.

Please be advised that many of our charter operators must charge the HST this year and thus you will notice a price increase with these charters that take place after July 1. In addition, some operators have updated their pricing to reflect the increased cost of diesel fuel. Sorry, but this reality is beyond our control. If you want a great deal, come out to the Young's Point Drift Dive or our spring picnic at Marmora for some free fun

That's it for now! If you have any questions about charter sign-up or payments, please contact me by clicking here. Now, go read about the guy that wants to colonize the sea, the Star Trek wet suits or the other fascinating articles on this site!

Cheers!

 Picton Winery Tour Option

July 10 and August 14

Wine tours are available on the Picton Duck's Dive Saturdays for any club member and their family. You do not have to be signed-up for a Duck's charter. Here are the details...

The shuttle would pick up the group at Duck's Dive Cottages around noon and head over to Hillier Township to visit wineries in that area. You would visit 4 wineries that could include By Chadsey's Cairn Winery, Sandbanks Estates Winery, Rosehall Run Vineyards & Casa-Dea Estate Winery. A brewery tour is to be included. They would also make a stop at a local artisan's studio or gallery en-route back to Point Traverse to break-up the long drive.

They expect to be back to the cottages around 5:00 PM. Since there is more driving involved with this tour, the cost would be $80 per person, including taxes. This price is based on a minimum of 6 people taking the tour. Price includes fresh fruit, cheese & crackers and bottle water for along the way as well as tastings at each winery. Maximum is 10 people, minimum is . Payment for this may follow the payment schedule.

The Aquatic Life of Dennis Chamberland: One Man's Quest to Colonize the Sea PDF Print E-mail

Want to permanently live underwater?

Dennis Chamberland does and he wants anyone to be able to join him within a decade. Set to commence by this year, the first expedition will be initiated by the submersion of the Leviathan, a small underwater habitat that can house up to four people. He’s not only certain that the colonization of the ocean floor is imminent; he’s making it happen.

Take a look at this video on one man's drive to live underwater with all the comforts of home.
